A large French galvanized zinc bottle carrier, with TEN compartments, circa 1900-1920.
Unusual to find a carrier that can hold ten bottles, most are capable of holding six, eight at most.
Originally used to transport wine bottles from the shop to home, and then back again with the empties for a refill or refund.
Perfect in the kitchen for holding bottles of olive oil, vinegar, wine, or Vermouth, as shown here.
With an incorporated zinc handle to hold the weight of so many bottles, rather than the usual wooden spool handle.
Held together with heavy rivets, all original.
May be placed on its side or hung from the wall by hooks for use as a wine rack.
