Description
An original British School Decalomania watercolor and cut paper farm scene mounted in a heavy black wood frame, circa 1860.
These were largely created by young girls from English aristocratic families during the late Georgian to the early Victorian periods.
The farm scene is made of cut and découpaged scrap paper on a hand-painted background. Labor intensive and very detailed, this charming and unusual piece would look at home in a kitchen, hall or nursery.
Still bright in color. The frame has a wood backing.
Framed: 12.5 in. L x 10.5 in. W x .75 in H
The expected wear to the original frame.
