A Pearlware or Creamware Feather and Scale edged platter, William Adams & Sons, England, circa 1820-1830.
William Adams & Sons Potters Ltd. manufactured their earthenwares in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, in the Staffordshire region of England, beginning in 1769.
A rarely signed early platter showing an unusual blue glazed rim in a running pattern of overlapping feathers that meets a wide inner fish scale border. The motif of feathers and scales indicate that this platter is suited for serving both fish and fowl.

Marked: An impressed circular stamp, Adams Warranted Staffordshire.
In remarkable condition, with the expected overall light crazing.
