A pair of Sterling Silver Tobacco Leaf dishes, signed, Alfredo Sciarrotta, retailed by Shreve, Crimp & Low, Co., Boston, circa 1950s.

Alfredo Sciarrotta (May 25, 1907 – May 28, 1985) was an Italian-American silversmith. Sciarrotta’s work is characterized by a sleek and simple style, and many of his smaller pieces feature his signature leaf-shape designs. During the 1950s and 1960s, Sciarrotta’s handmade silver pieces were sold at the most exclusive American retailers, including Georg Jensen, Cartier (New York), Bailey Banks & Biddle (Philadelphia), Gumps (San Fransisco), and Shreve, Crump & Low (Boston and Greenwich.) His designs became known as “The Wedding Gift of Philadelphia and Newport”

This pair of hand-made tobacco leaf shaped dishes are marked pattern number 10. They sit on three bun feet, with rolled stems. Beautifully simple in design.
