An earthenware, Austrian majolica lobster or crawfish plate, by Schutz Blansko, circa 1900. A bold, aesthetic mold showing a red lobster on a bed of cream and blue-green colored leaves. The notched rim is glazed in a rich yellow ochre. Incredible color.
‘Majolika, Steingut und Schamottefabrik Gebrüder Schütz’ was located in Liboje near Cilli. Their main market was Austria and Germany.
