A French majolica Barbotine fish, a rare abstracted form, circa late 19th Century.
The fish shows deep marine gray scales with pink to white fins. The base is ringed with a border of green seaweed on a brown ground. The fish has popped eyes and a handle showing scales and a small fin. A pink interior seen through the wide mouth opening.
