A Palissy style Trompe l’Oeil, majolica glazed plaque showing a branch of three young yellow pears and three large leaves on an opalescent brown ground, circa 1900-1920.
Molded in earthenware by Rafael Bordallo Pinheiro in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal.
Very dimensional with wonderful color. Pierced for hanging.
The Bordallo Pinheiro Factory of artistic earthenware was founded in 1884 in Caldas da Rainha, originally under the name “Fábrica de Faianças das Caldas da Rainha”

Very good condition, minimal fretting to the high point edge of one leaf, as expected due to age.
