A German porcelain oyster plate by Carl Tielsch, Altwasswe, circa 1875-1900.
A beautiful turquoise ground model to resemble waves, six shell shaped wells surround a round central sauce well.
The wells are white edged in brown, two wells have gold painted three point leaf sprigs.
The ruffled rim is lined in a gold band.
Carl Tielsch founded the Altwasser factory in 1845. It swiftly became the second largest porcelain factory in Silesia, known for its high quality and artistic values. Their quality was compared to porcelain manufactures from Berlin and Meissen.
