Description
A Chocolat Menier café set made by JARS France under the official Nestlé and Éditions Clouet licensing, circa 1980.
A two piece set, a large cup or soupier and plate glazed in the iconic Menier yellow with blue rims. Both pieces show the classic Chocolat Menier branding – an image of a French schoolgirl with her red umbrella and biscuits in a basket. The jeune fille writes, “eviter les contrefaçons” – avoid counterfeits.
Perfect for cafe au lait and a breakfast croissant or a light lunch of soup and toast.
Made by Jars Ceramistes, founded by Pierre Jars in 1857 in the South of France. Jars was awarded the Great Prize at the Universal Exhibition of 1900, in Paris.
The Chocolat Menier image is licensed by the Société des Produits Nestlé S.A., Vevey.
