Description
A complete set of twelve, Digoin Sarreguemines, French faïence plates, known as ‘Les mois de l’année à la campagne.’ Each plate shows a unique black transfer printed image, relating to a month of the year. Illustrated are ‘campagne,’ or countryside activities particular to each month, such as fishing, hunting, picnicking or apple harvesting. The name of the month is printed in French at the bottom of each image, from Janvier to Décembre.
