From the Victorian Era, a English hand-made Sterling Silver Asparagus master serving tongs. London, circa 1838,
In The Fiddle Pattern, with beautifully ornate hand-pierced blades, one blade with a raised lip for easy grabbing of asparagus spears.
The pierced pattern on the twin blades resemble the openings of a violin or fiddle. The blades are held in place with silver screws.
The tongs sit open and close around the spears by squeezing the handle.
