From the Midcentury Era, a milk glass pedestal cake stand, in the hobnail pattern, from Fenton Art Glass Company, circa 1940s – 1950s.
The Fenton Art Glass Company was founded in 1905 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, by brothers Frank and John Fenton. The manufacturer introduced the “Hobnail” pattern in 1939. “Hobnail” features raised bumps in a uniform surface pattern, named for its resemblance to the soles of hobnail boots.
A large stand in a pure white opaque glass, with a deeply ruffled top rim.
Both the underside of the top and around the base of the pedestal show the distinctive raised hobnails.
12.5 inches in Diameter x 5.5 inches High. Heavy!
