Description
A French Beaux-Arts period wooden and enameled peg hat and coat rail, circa 1900.
The wall mounted wood rail has three bent metal arms with white enameled ball-shaped upper pegs for holding hats, ending in u-shaped white enameled pegs for coats. The enameled finishings are held in place with brass fittings.
The arms are held in place to the rail with a strip of metal screwed to the wood back plate.
The back has two inset metal hooks for hanging.
Most often found in the entry ways of French homes or in the cafes and bistros of Paris.
Perfect in a bathroom for hanging robes and towels, or in a farmhouse style kitchen.
Lovely time worn patina.
