A German majolica fern leaf footed comport, circa 1885-1900
Comports are serving dishes with a pedestal or footed base, used for displaying fruit or desserts.
A charming mold in a beautiful turquoise, decorated with a spray of florals against a stippled ground.
A large leaf, fern fronds, and pink petaled flowers are all tied together with a blue bow.
The comport sits raised on a pedestal, decorated with corresponding florals, also tied with a bow.
The rim of the top plate and the footing are finished in a Greek Key and beaded pattern.
Showing an impressed ‘S’ on the underside of the footing.
8.75 inches in diameter x 4.5 inches high.
In good antique condition, with the expected light surface wear to the high points.
