From Italy, a Mid-Century magazine rack in the Hollywood Regency Style popularized by Dorthy Draper. From a Palm Beach Florida estate, circa 1930-1950.
A classic rope and tassel design made of heavy weight gold painted metal. Two large compartments for holding magazines or books are separated by scrolled rope dividers ornamented with three hanging tassels. A looped rope carrying handle at the top. A perforated metal sheet keeps the magazines in place. Sitting on four tasseled feet.
Hollywood Regency is a style of interior design signifying opulence, and named for the movie industry of southern California. The style is typified by the glamorous Hollywood Golden Era, from the 1920s through the 1950s.
