Description
A vintage Hubley cast iron doorstop showing a bouquet of lilacs and daisies set inside a woven basket with a top bow. The basket sits on a heavy iron plinth and retains the original polychrome painted finish along with traces of gold paint on the verso.
Marked 1930.
The Hubley manufacturing company was first incorporated in 1894 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania by John Hubley. The company is well-known for their cast iron novelties. Their pieces are highly collectible and much sought after.
