A charming set of six hand painted earthenware plates in the Italian la campagna country style, circa 1940-1950.
Brightly painted with a central deep red Fleur-de-lis surrounded by a garland of fruit and scrolling in blue, green, red and yellow.
The plates have a shaped rim bordered in yellow with brown hatch markings, and an inner border lined in black.
8.75 inches in diameter x 1 inch high.
Signed on the versos by the painter – Italy
In remarkable condition, none of the rim fretting often seen on these pieces.
