A Josiah Wedgwood ‘Pembroke Castle’ pattern Transferware platter, Burslem, Staffordshire – circa Mid-19th Century.

An earthenware body showing a central image of sailors rowing to and from a moored sailing ship on a river, with the ruins of a castle in the mid ground. The detailed printing work of the rocks, trees, and clouds show the high quality we expect from Wedgwood. The transfer is printed in an unusual deep blue-gray, a running floral and dotted border. 19 in. L x 15.5 in. W x 1.5 in. H

Marked: Impressed Wedgwood

In very good antique condition, minor wear to the rim, the expected light overall crazing.
