A set of six, dinner sized plates, from Copeland & Garrett, Late Spode, circa 1830s.
Copeland and Garrett operated from 1833-1847 in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England.
The pattern is Lily – transfer printed in Green.
A detailed image of a Daylily spray tied with a ribbon takes center stage.
The complex double border is decorated with alternating scrolls and stylized shells.
The printing process an underglaze, tissue transferred image in green ink on a white earthenware ground.
