A set of four Mid-Century French pottery fish plates, hand-potted and painted by the ceramist Paulette Quinson, (1899-1984) Marseille, circa 1950-1960s
Beginning in 1924, Quinson ran a well known art pottery studio in Marseille, on the French Mediterranean coast. She collaborated with the esteemed pottery Moustiers-Sainte-Marie.
The large, creamy white earthenware plates are decorated with applied fish and seaweed, raised from the plate by approximately a half inch.
Very dimensional.
Each plate shows a different fish at the top on sprigs of raised seaweed, a larger sprig of green seaweed is applied to the bottom rim.
Each plate is signed by the artist.
Measures: 9.75 in. diameter x .75 in. height
In excellent vintage condition with very light wear to the raised mold work, as expected.
