A Barbotine majolica oyster plate from La Faïencerie d’Onnaing in northern France, circa 1880 – 1910. Made to hold a dozen oysters.
A star-shaped plate showing six fish heads surrounding a turquoise center sauce well. Six additional fish heads are seen on the end of each arm of the star. A gray, swirl textured ground adds to the appeal of this desirable and dimensional plate. Beautiful bold color.
Marked with the registration stamp, PV Made in France.
