A Barbotine majolica oyster plate from La Faïencerie d’Onnaing in northern France, circa 1870. Six fish heads surround a central raised fluted medallion. A textured ground and pattern rim add to the appeal of this desirable and dimensional plate. The turquoise ground is the brightest of the color ways produced in this mold, making it a rarer piece.
Marked with a faint impressed sunburst of early Onnaing.
