From the French faïencerie Sarreguemines, a Bee shaped wall pocket, circa 1910.
A majolica glazed earthenware bee formed as a wall pocket. This is the largest size of mold number 4402. The body of the bee is finished in yellow ochre and brown, the outstretched wings are in a creamy white and ochre with hand painted veining in black. A beautiful metallic, iridescent finish changes with the light.
With a flat back to hang as a vase or for holding utensils in the kitchen. A charming French classic.
The wings measure 14.25 in. across. The body is 10 in. L x 3 in. H
