Description
A sterling silver thimble jigger or whiskey shot cup bar tool for measuring out liquor when mixing cocktails. Showing the mark for Simons Brothers, circa 1900.
A play on the expression, ‘Just a Thimble Full,’ the jigger is modeled on an over sized sewing thimble.
With beading under the smooth rim and a heavily textured surface on the bottom half of the thimble. A gold-wash interior.
George Washington Simons started his business in Philadelphia 1839 as a manufacturer of gold and silver thimbles and pencil cases. The company expanded into manufacturing many other gold and silver items including officers and presentation swords during the Civil War.
