Still bearing the original French gold foil label: “St Clément France Barbotine – décorée à la main sur des formes fin XIXe siècle”.
This translates to “St Clément France Barbotine – hand decorated using late 19th-century molds.
This sticker indicates that the item is a vintage mid-to-late 20th-century reissue by the factory, utilizing their historic, original late-19th-century Art Nouveau molds to recreate these classic designs.
The complex mold is dimensional with high relief detailing and vibrant, glossy colored glazes.
The jug features a pattern of ripening pink raspberries against green foliage.
There is an incised ground of petaled flowers serving as a background.
The jug sits on a raised footing.
