Description

A scarce and unusual Sterling Silver sugar and spice dusting spoon, attributed to R. Blackinton & Co., an American silversmithing firm founded in 1862 in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, circa 1880-1910.

The barrel shaped sifting spoon is used for dusting toast, fruit or puddings with powdered sugar or cinnamon.

Formed as a perforated scoop, this piece is entirely hand made.

Gold-washed interior.

Light initialed engraving on the back of the bowl.

3.5 in. L x .75 in. W x .75 in. H

Weight:  0.256 Troy ounces.

Marked Sterling on both the handle and the bowl.

In excellent condition with lightly polished patina.
