Vintage Printed Tin Dolly Madison Ice Cream Flavor Board

$365.00

1 in stock

Description

A hanging Dolly Madison Ice Cream Lithographed Tin Flavor Board, circa late 1940s.

Ice Cream and soda flavor boards were originally displayed in soda fountains and general stores across the country.

A wonderful piece of Americana that would look great hanging in a kitchen today.

With the original hanging chain, the printed metal flavor board shows the Dolly Madison logo at the top, with eleven slots for holding the flavor cards printed on cardboard.

Some of the original cardboard cards remain intact, and slide in and out of the holders.

Dolly Madison was founded in 1922 and was the first ice cream served in the White House. Named after the wife and First Lady of James Madison, the fourth President of the United States.

24 in. L x 11.5 in. W x 1 in. H

The hanging chain adds an additional 2 inches to the overall length.

In rather good vintage condition, showing the expected wear. Still brightly colored.

The cardboard flavor cards show fading.
