Description
From Wedgwood and in the color way known as Argenta, a fruit plate, England, circa 1875.
Showing a central red and orange pear and leaves along with a branch of purple plums and red grapes, all on a white basket weave ground. The basket is bound at intervals in a gray-green glazing which also borders the woven rim.
One of a group made by Wedgwood with each plate featuring a different fruit.

Marked; Impressed Wedgwood, with a date cipher and the painted numbered mark of the glazer.
In very good antique condition with the minor surface wear expected of the Argenta pieces. A faint hairline running from the rim.
