A pair of Cavalier King Charles Ironstone Spaniels made by Arthur Wood, Staffordshire, England, circa 1920s.    

Arthur Wood Pottery was produced in Stoke-on-Trent, in the Staffordshire region of England. Initially founded in 1884 as Capper & Wood, in 1928 it changed its name to Arthur Wood & Son. Arthur Wood became sole owner from 1904 until 1928, when the company name was changed to Arthur Wood & Son Limited, and further ranges of tableware were introduced.

This pair of facing blue and white spaniels have transfer printed floral sprays scattered across their bodies. The long ears, paws, and curled tails are glazed in a cobalt blue.

The dogs have brown eyes, and the traditional raised molded chain locks to the collars.

A large pair, measuring 10.5 in. Long x 4 inches Wide x 11.5 in. High.
