Adams & Bromley Majolica oyster plate, England, circa 1870-1879.
An unusual shaped earthenware plate with six oyster wells molded as full bodied gray fish with white bellies, whose tails meet to surround a cobalt blue center sauce well. A larger whole fish at the bottom rim is a crackers well. A brown textured ground with a yellow ochre rim. Good, bright coloring on this example.

Very good antique condition, a tiny bite to the rim on the verso, unseen on the front.
