Description
A scarce painted metal or Jappaned bird cage, attributed to the Andrew B. Hendryx Company, New Haven, Connecticut, circa 1900-1920.
The bright orange square cage shows an eaved roof with the original top hanging handle.
Hand-painted geometric and stylized floral patterns in red, white, gold, and black adorn all sides.
The cage sits on a square base raised on four paw shaped feet, with three removable brass cased glass side panels, and a slide-out bottom for easy cleaning.
Included are two plastic feeders, and wood dowel perches.
Assembled with the original painted brass screws.
12 in. L x 10 in. W x 15.5 inches H., the handle adds an additional 2 inches in height.
Mild bending, surface wear, and light rust as is expected.
