A pair of rustic cast iron andirons in the Arts and Craft or Mission style, signed Cahill, circa 1880-1910.
Cahill andirons were produced by the Cahill Iron Works in Chattanooga, Tennessee, between 1875 and the 1920s.
Heavy in weight, durable, sturdy cast iron construction, these andirons feature distinctive Arts & Crafts or styling with a signature hammered texture showing evidence of older brass plating. This pair has been oiled for a protective finish.
18. 5 inches H. x 21 inches L. x 10 inches W.
Marked on the back with “CAHILL” within a diamond shape, and with style number 198.
In very good antique condition, showing the expected wear due to use.
