Description
A set of three pieces of Chinese Altar Fruit, the Qing Period, China, circa late 19th to the early 20th Century.
The Qing dynasty, also called the Manchu dynasty, was the last of the imperial dynasties of China, spanning from 1644 to 1912.
The porcelain Eggplant, Orange, and Pear are realistically molded and beautifully colored, with their twigs and leaves attached.
Sometimes called Offering Fruit, these pieces would have been placed on the Temple altars as religious offerings during the seasons when fresh fruit may have been unavailable.
They make a marvelous display on a tabletop, shelf or cabinet.

Orange: 2 in. Diameter x 2 in. H
Pear: 3.5 in. L x 1.5 in. H
