A set of six dinner plates in the ‘Patricia’ pattern, Copeland Spode, England, circa 1912-1940.
Often called the ‘Rose Chintz’ pattern, showing a complex sheet transfer of a multi-colored floral on a black stippled ground. Hand painted red, orange, blue, pink, and yellow vining flowers are against a pattern of fine dots and floral outlines. The mold is swirled from the rim towards the center, the rims are deeply fluted with a painted deep marigold orange edge.
Marked: Copeland Spode, England, Patricia, Rd. No. 596271. Impressed makers mark and the red iron oxide number of the painter.
