A Mid-Century Modern Era Vega Pottery Coffee Service for eight, Made by Eduardo Vega – Ecuador, circa 1970s
In the early 1970s, Eduardo Vega, an Ecuadorian ceramist and muralist, co-founded the Artesa ceramic factory. His own workshop and gallery known as E. Vega Galeria Taller, produced hand-made art pieces such as this coffee service.
Incredible Mid-Century design glazed in earth tones with bright pops of turquoise.
The service for eight consists of:
Coffee pot with lid: 6.5 in. from handle to spout x 4 inches wide x 9.5 in. high
Sugar with lid: 4 in. Diameter x 4 in. H
Creamer: 3.5 in. handle to spout x 2 in. wide x 3 in. high
Eight Cups: 4.25 in. handle to spout x 3 in. wide x 3.25 in. H
Each piece is signed, along with gallery labels: Vega, hand-painted, Cuenca, Ecuador.
In excellent condition, looks to have never been used.
