$1,200.00

Description

A set of four extremely scarce and unusual sterling silver lemon slice squeezers, Birmingham, England, date marked 1909.

These pieces would have been used in a very sophisticated cocktail party.

Cleverly designed in three pieces, a spear threads through the squeezer, and screws into a top knob.

The squeezer would sit on the rim of a low-ball glass as a garnish, and would be used to add lemon to a drink without wetting the fingers.

Each piece has an engraved monogram on one side of the squeezer, makers marks on the opposite side.

All three pieces, the squeezer, the spear, and the top knob are marked 925 for Sterling Silver.

Showing the Birmingham import date letter ‘K’ for 1909 and the Importers mark: OB

Each piece weighs .405 Troy Ounce, the set of four weighs 1.622 Troy ounces

All pieces are in excellent working condition, showing lightly polished patina.

We have another set of four, offered separately for a total of eight pieces.
