From Minton, a wonderful and extremely scarce majolica glazed pedestal bowl in the Palissy style, dated 1867.
From the Aesthetic Period, the bowl, modeled as an inverted mushroom, shows an ombre glaze of creamy white to a soft pink. The interior shows an unexpected deep orange glaze. Three naturalistically modeled frogs surround the mushroom stem and sit on a round, rocky base with leaves from various water plants. A turquoise glazed underside showing the makers mark.
