A French Majolica plate made by Fives-Lille, Circa 1890. This piece is for serving both Artichokes or Asparagus and shows images of both with parts of their plants. Glazing of greens and blues on a white ground, with a hint of lavender on the spear heads of the asparagus and the thistle-like head of the artichoke plant. The shaped rim conforms to the leaves, there is a deep sauce well.
