A hand-painted, majolica glazed earthenware oyster plate made by Wedgwood, Staffordshire, England, date marked ‘H’ for the year 1879 . The mold shows six, brightly glazed, scallop shaped oyster wells on a painted ground particular to the Argenta Ocean pattern. A dimensional mold with a wave-like rippled rim.
Impressed Wedgwood on the verso, along with a date code and the red iron oxide painters number.
